CIT: Coyote In Training

CIT: Coyote In Training

Prerequisite: Young Mentors: Coyote Leadership Training
This program is designed as an opportunity for teens to help with the actual operation of camp. Our CITs play an essential role in the functioning of camp every week of the summer. The experience is unlike any camp that you have attended before. When you come to camp as a CIT you will be part of making the magic that happens at Whole Earth Nature School. You will be paired with a group of instructors and have the opportunity to share your skills as a mentor to kids that are younger than you. During adventure camps we also encourage our CITs to dress up and play characters for whatever camp is happening. That means that we may ask you to be a pirate, a troll or a wizard for a day. You will also get a chance to demonstrate your responsibility as you help the Whole Earth staff and volunteers to ensure the safety of every participant at camp. Your responsibilities and activities will vary each week depending on the camp theme, your instructors, and your own imagination.

CITs will help our staff to lead games and activities. They will serve as a role model for younger campers. They will develop and practice leaderships skills in a hands-on setting. Finally, CITs will be an important part of making camp a success for all the campers that week.
