No-School Nature Camp: Way of the Cougar
Among our four Learning Pathways the Way of the Cougar is the one that is all about stealth and invisibility. In the Cougar Way students learn how to blend and flow with their natural environment. The skills of the Cougar Way also extend to navigation. At Way of the Cougar students will begin to develop their navigational skills both with and without a compass as a tool. Students will learn several ways of staying “found” in the wilderness without the use of any modern tools. Camouflage is also an important part of the Way of the Cougar curriculum and kids will learn to imitate the natural dappled patterns of the woods to blend into any background. We’ll play some great games that demonstrate how effective camouflage can be when hiding from others! (Or from animals!)
